How it works

One brief. A person reads it. A possible introduction.

The same process applies to every service on the platform. Nothing is shared unless you give the permission requested on the form, and you can withdraw it before further sharing. We only start looking for contractors after a real, in-scope enquiry has been read.

01 · Describe

Share the essentials

Choose the service and answer the questions its form asks. We initially ask only for your area or Eircode. We may ask for an exact address later if it is needed to handle your enquiry; you do not need to include it in your initial notes or photographs.

02 · Review

A person reads the request

We aim to review your enquiry and contact you within 1–2 working days. We check that the enquiry is genuine, within the Republic of Ireland, within that service's scope and clear enough for a contractor.

03 · Connect

Contractors may get in touch

With your explicit agreement, we may approach up to three potentially suitable independent contractors for that kind of work. Any contractor who takes it up contacts you directly.

What we do before contacting anyone

We do not hold a list of contractors waiting for work, and we do not pass your details to whoever pays the most. When an enquiry is in scope, a person goes looking for contractors who plausibly cover your area and take on your kind of project, then asks whether they want it — usually without naming you first.

What happens after sharing

A contractor may contact you directly using the details you gave us. They set out their own availability, scope, price and terms. You choose whether to reply, arrange a visit or go ahead.

We do not recommend one contractor over another, we do not stand behind their promises, and we are not part of any contract you later sign.

If we cannot find anyone

Sometimes we will not find a suitable contractor. If that happens, we will tell you within 2–3 weeks after we confirm that your enquiry is in scope rather than leave you waiting.

Capacity

We accept no more than 10 enquiries awaiting human attention across all services. If that limit is reached, new submissions are paused until the queue is reduced. An individual service may also be paused; its page stays up and says so.

What this service never does

  • Give you a price, an estimate or a quote of our own.
  • Tell you whether your project is feasible, or whether you need planning permission.
  • Promise that a contractor will reply, or reply within any particular time.
  • Describe contractors as vetted, approved or accredited by us.
  • Share anything with anyone without the permission you gave on the form.

Changing your mind or complaining

Ask us through the contact page to stop handling your enquiry or make a complaint. We acknowledge these messages as soon as they are received, at any time. Withdrawal cannot undo sharing that has already taken place lawfully, but it stops any further sharing by us.
